The 10 Anti-Commandments

In 1,400 B.C. God gave his 10 commandments to Moses to give to the Israelites.  To this day, both Jews and Christians, over 2.5 Billion people, subscribe to them.

However, barely more than 2,000 years later, someone gave his own commandments claiming a divine revelation, which were against the 10 Commandments of God.

Commandment #1:

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me."

There are 2 parts to this commandment.

Part A is that God brought his people out of the land of slavery.  This did not abolish slavery, but it brought dignity to the life of a slave.  Slaves were to be supplied liberally. If a slave was mistreated, he was to be recompensed and set free.

Part B is that they were to have no other gods besides God.

Islam breaks both parts of this commandment.

Part A:

Slavery was not only allowed, but it was allowed to mistreat slaves.

Quran (33:50) - "O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those (slaves) whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee"

So, slave owners were allowed to force their female slaves to have sex with them.

Muhammad also encouraged mistreatment of slaves.

Abu Dawud (1814) - "...[Abu Bakr] He then began to beat [his slave] him while the Apostle of Allah (pbuh) was smiling and saying: Look at this man who is in the sacred state (putting on ihram), what is he doing?" The future first caliph of Islam is beating his slave for losing a camel while Muhammad looks on in apparent amusement.

Part B:

Anything given precedence over a commandment of God, would qualify as a god set above the Lord, God of Israel.  Muhammad is given precedence above the commands of God and thus, to the Muslims, becomes a god worshiped above the real God.

Quran 48:13, "And so for him who believeth not in Allah and His messenger - Lo! We have prepared a flame for disbelievers."

Islam requires that one believe in Muhammad and his message as it was the message of God.  Yet, Muhammad's commands contradict God's commands.

According to the Quran, only Muhammad had the truth.

"He it is Who hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations - they are the substance of the Book - and others (which are) allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissension by seeking to explain it. None knoweth its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Lord; but only men of understanding really heed."
-Quran 3:7

Thus Muhammad to to be believed above all other prophets of God.  This exalts Muhammad above God and makes Muhammad a god that is worshiped.

Commandment #2:

“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments."

This is plain and simple. Do not bow down or give homage to any form of anything in heaven or earth.

However, Muslims are required to practice tawaf to honor the Black Stone, honoring it as a god.

Narrated Salim that his father said: "I saw Allah’s Apostle arriving at Mecca; he kissed the Black Stone Corner first while doing Tawaf and did ramal in the first three rounds of the seven rounds (of Tawaf)." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 26, Number 673)

Narrated Az-Zubair bin ‘Arabi: "A man asked Ibn 'Umar about the touching of the Black Stone. Ibn ‘Umar said, "I saw Allah’s Apostle touching and kissing it." The questioner said, "But if there were a throng (much rush) round the Ka'ba and the people overpowered me, (what would I do?)" He replied angrily, "Stay in Yemen (as that man was from Yemen). I saw Allah's Apostle touching and kissing it." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 26, Number 680)

Muslims may argue that they are merely venerating an object and not worshiping it.

However, When the people of Israel started venerating this object God had the righteous king Hezekiah destroy it:

"In the third year of Hoshe'a son of Elah, king of Israel, Hezeki'ah the son of Ahaz, king of Judah, began to reign. He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Abi the daughter of Zechari'ah. And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that David his father had done. He removed the high places, and broke the pillars, and cut down the Ashe'rah. And he broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the people of Israel had burned incense to it; it was called Nehush'tan." 2 Kings 18:1-4

Thus, just because Muhammad may have erroneously believed that Abraham had placed the black stone at the Kabah, he still had no right to kiss it and thereby turn it into an object of idolatry.

Commandment #3:

“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name."

However, Muhammad repeatedly commands his followers to kill others for the sole reason to worship the Muslim way for Allah. Example:

Quran (4:89) - "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks."

Thus Muhammad commands his followers to misuse the name of God for a cause not approved by God.

Commandment #4:

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."

Muslims have a call to prayer and worship on Friday according to Quran 62:9,

"O you who believe, when the call for Salah (prayer) is proclaimed on Friday, hasten for the remembrance of Allah, and leave off business. That is much better for you, if you but know."

Yet, no Sabbath day of rest.

Commandment #5:

“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you."

Exception in Quran 9:23, "O ye who believe! Choose not your fathers nor your brethren for friends if they take pleasure in disbelief rather than faith. Whoso of you taketh them for friends, such are wrong-doers."

Except in Quran 5:51, "O you who believe, do not take Jews and Christians as patrons, affiliating with them or showing them affection; they are patrons of each other, being united in disbelief. Whoever amongst you affiliates with them, he is one of them, counted with them. God does not guide the folk who do wrong, by affiliating with disbelievers."

Commandment #6:

“You shall not murder."

Muhammad repeatedly commands his followers to murder others simply because they do not have the same beliefs. Example in Quran 9:5,

"Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."

Commandment #7:

“You shall not commit adultery."

However, Muhammad said that you could have sex with female slaves even though you were not married to them in Quran 4:3,

"And if ye fear that ye will not deal fairly by the orphans, marry of the women, who seem good to you, two or three or four; and if ye fear that ye cannot do justice (to so many) then one (only) or (the captives) that your right hands possess. Thus it is more likely that ye will not do injustice."

Commandment #8:

“You shall not steal."

Muhammad encouraged his followers to take spoils of war in Quran 8:41,

"And know that whatever ye take as spoils of war, lo! a fifth thereof is for Allah, and for the messenger and for the kinsman (who hath need) and orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, if ye believe in Allah and that which We revealed unto Our slave on the Day of Discrimination, the day when the two armies met. And Allah is Able to do all things."

In Quran 9:103, Muhammad commands his followers to take their charity from the wealth of others that they plunder.

"Take alms of their wealth, wherewith thou mayst purify them and mayst make them grow, and pray for them. Lo! thy prayer is an assuagement for them. Allah is Hearer, Knower."

Commandment #9:

“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor."

One of the most interesting moral dilemmas for Islam are the cases in which lying is permitted

Humaid b. 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Auf reported that his mother Umm Kulthum daughter of 'Uqba b. Abu Mu'ait, and she was one amongst the first emigrants who pledged allegiance to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him), as saying that she heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: A liar is not one who tries to bring reconciliation amongst people and speaks good (in order to avert dispute), or he conveys good. Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them). (Sahih Muslim, Hadith number 6303-05; see also Sahih al-Bukhari 3.857)

The common Moslem belief is that it is allowable to tell a falsehood on four occasions:

1st, to save one's life;
2nd, to effect a peace or reconciliation;
3rd, to persuade a woman;
4th, on the occasion of a journey or expedition.

Commandment #10:

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Allowing people to have sex with female slaves they are not married to is covetousness as Muhammad commanded in Quran 4:3,

"And if ye fear that ye will not deal fairly by the orphans, marry of the women, who seem good to you, two or three or four; and if ye fear that ye cannot do justice (to so many) then one (only) or (the captives) that your right hands possess. Thus it is more likely that ye will not do injustice."

Taking from the wealth of others for your own charity is another form of covetousness.

Therefore, Islam is not the same as other Abrahamic religions, but rather an antithesis to Judea-Christian morals.
