Woman who quit college to fight ISIS has passport confiscated on heroic return home

Joanna Palani gained worldwide fame when she revealed she was heading to the besieged city of Kobane to fight the terror group.

The 22-year-old, of Kurdish descent, is one of dozens of Westerners to join the fight against ISIS in the Syrian city.

In a Facebook post, she published a photograph of herself calmly smiling while wearing military fatigues, a bulletproof vest and carrying a large assault rifle - threatening ISIS militants with the words: "See you on the front-line tomorrow".
