2 Additional Suspects Sought in Connection With Paris Terror Attacks
BRUSSELS, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Belgian authorities on Friday announced that police are searching for two additional suspects they believe may be linked to last month's deadly terror attacks in Paris.
Authorities have been looking for suspect Salah Abdeslam for nearly a month. He was previously classified as the lone remaining participating terrorist from the Nov. 13 attacks, but Friday officials said two more associates linked to Abdeslam are also wanted.
They were identified as Soufiane Kayal and Samir Bouzid and officials said they have used phony Belgian identification documents.
Investigators said Bouzid's ID was used to send money to a relative of the suspected ringleader, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, four days after the Paris attacks. That relative, a woman, and Abaaoud were both killed by police during a raid in Belgium Nov. 18.
The ID of Kayal was used to rent a residence in Belgium, officials said, that was later raided by police on Nov. 26.
"The federal prosecutors' office and the investigating judge wish to appeal to the public again to look out for two more suspects the investigators are actively searching for," the prosecutors' office said in a statement.
"Anyone who sees those men is asked not to undertake any initiative and to contact immediately the police," Belgian national police added, saying the men should be considered "armed and dangerous."
